Storm Èowyn

Storm Èowyn swept through the region, causing significant damage to trees and vegetation. The ferocity of the storm left many trees uprooted or severely weakened, posing potential hazards. This level of destruction underscores the importance of timely intervention to prevent further complications. If your trees have been affected by Storm Èowyn, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are happy to provide advice and assistance in the aftermath of such a severe weather event, ensuring your property is safe and any damaged trees are properly cared for.

Collaborative Community Effort

This month, our team had the privilege of participating in Strathcarron Hospice’s annual Tree Recycling Day. It was an incredible experience as we helped collect and recycle over 500 Christmas trees from various locations, including Forth Valley, Cumbernauld, and Kilsyth. Our efforts were focused on dismantling the trees efficiently for transport to Sustainable Thinking Scotland, where they will be repurposed in an eco-friendly manner. One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to connect with other local businesses and community members. . It was heart-warming to see so many people coming together, united by a common goal to support the hospice and make a positive impact on the environment. The event also provided a fantastic platform for us to forge new relationships and strengthen existing ones with like-minded organisations. In addition to the environmental benefits, our participation in the event helped raise much-needed funds for Strathcarron Hospice. Knowing that our efforts contribute to such a vital cause was incredibly rewarding. Overall, the day was a perfect blend of hard work, community spirit, and the satisfaction of knowing we played a part in making a difference. We look forward to supporting similar initiatives in the future and continuing to champion sustainability and community support.

Forth Valley Chamber of Commerce Talk A Walk Event

We were thrilled to share our passion and expertise on all things related to trees with fellow members of the Forth Valley Chamber of Commerce at Wednesdays Take a Walk Outdoors event. It was a welcome change from our recent focus on storm-damaged trees.. This event was a crucial step in our efforts to advocate for the future of trees, emphasising the importance of valuing and maintaining them, especially in light of the recent storm events. Connecting with like-minded businesses who share a commitment to environmental stewardship was truly inspiring. We are eager to continue these conversations and drive collective action for the preservation.

Cultivating Tomorrows Forests Today

We are excited to share a recent project with the Future Trees Trust, where we had the opportunity to contribute to an important initiative. Our team, along with the amazingly insightful Andrew Macqueen of Andrew Macqueen Silviculture, were involved in collecting scions to help establish some of the very first downy birch seed orchards, a crucial step in creating future trees that will strengthen the resilience and biodiversity of British woodlands for generations to come. As an environmentally conscious tree contractor with a strong commitment to sustainability, we at O’Neill Trees and Timber are proud to be part of projects that support the health and longevity of our natural landscapes. It’s inspiring to know that our work is helping to shape the future of our woodlands and forests. We are always looking to collaborate with organisations focused on similar goals, whether it’s cutting-edge initiatives, habitat creation, biodiversity enhancement, or woodland conservation. If you’re working on a project that aligns with these values, we’d love to explore how we can partner to make a positive impact.

Where do trees go?

In recent times, biomass fuel has seen a huge increase in demand, so much so contractors are now being paid for their woodchip and in large enough quantities, it will even be taken away straight from site.
